It is particularly suited to podcasts, interviews, sports content, thought-leadership videos and branded productions. The set includes professional audio and video equipment, with adaptable lighting to suit different styles of filming. So, if someone asks about “Blackwood” at Finchley Studios, they are referring to the Blackwood studio set with its distinctive black wood backdrop, not a blacked-out studio. For a completely dark, controlled environment, Finchley has a separate Blackout Set.

The Blackwood Set at Finchley Studios is recommended for up to five people on camera, making it a great choice for interviews, podcasts, panel discussions, team videos and other multi-person productions. If you need to have more than five people on camera, don't worry. The Blackwood Set at Finchley Studios can be booked with professional cameras, microphones and technical support, making it easy to produce high-quality video and audio in one session. Our typical Gold and Platinum Package bookings include three Panasonic Lumix S5D full-frame mirrorless cameras with 18–40mm S lenses, together with Shure SM7B microphones. Additional cameras and lavalier microphones can also be provided upon request, depending on your production requirements. Whether you are recording a podcast, interview, personal branding video or corporate production, our team can help create the right technical setup for your shoot.

Yes. The Blackwood Set can be adapted to support your brand and production requirements while retaining its distinctive polished and cinematic aesthetic.  We can provide a 55-inch screen for displaying your logo, presentation or other branded visuals, while lighting can be adjusted to complement your brand colours and overall visual identity. If you have particular requirements, please communicate them before booking. Logo files, brand colours, measurements, visual references and technical questions are all welcome and will help us prepare the most suitable setup.
