Getting Your Podcast Guests to Finchley Studios

Getting Your Podcast Guests to Finchley Studios

Send guests the address for the set you have actually booked, a confirmed arrival time and one contact for the day. Finchley has a main studio address and a separate Warehouse address, so a generic invitation to “Finchley Studios” is not enough.

When choosing a podcast studio in London, travel arrangements are part of the recording plan. A guest who reaches the right entrance with time to settle is easier to welcome than someone navigating conflicting messages while the session is under way.

Confirm the correct address

The Finchley booking information lists:

Location Address
Main studios 1 Dollis Mews, Finchley Central, London N3 1HH
Finchley Warehouse 22–23 Arcadia Avenue, Finchley Central, London N3 2JU

Check the booking confirmation before sending directions. For example, the Roundtable Set is at the Warehouse address. Do not send its guests to Dollis Mews by default.

Include the set name as well as the address. If the plan changes, replace the old instructions and tell every attendee which version to use.

Give useful station and parking information

The main studio is a two-minute walk from Finchley Central Underground station on the Northern line, according to Finchley's booking page. Guests should check their journey for their own travel date rather than relying on a fixed journey time from elsewhere in London.

Finchley advertises one free parking space per booking. Ask the team how it applies to your chosen location and arrange who will use it. A host, guest and producer arriving separately should not each expect a reserved space.

Additional parking, including at Finchley Central Station Car Park, requires payment. Guests should check current restrictions and availability themselves; a nearby car park is not a confirmed reservation.

Separate arrival time from recording time

A guest arrival time should allow for the activities they need to complete before appearing on microphone. That might include introductions, seating, a sound check and a short briefing.

Allow a travel buffer in the guest's personal itinerary, but agree early studio access in advance. Reaching the neighbourhood early does not automatically mean the recording room is available.

For a succession of guests, stagger arrivals around the running order. Confirm where each person can wait rather than assuming a separate waiting room is part of every booking.

Send one concise arrival brief

A practical message should contain:

  • The date, set name and confirmed address.
  • The guest's agreed arrival and expected departure times.
  • Station information or confirmed parking instructions.
  • The producer's name and day-of contact number.
  • Any access arrangements already agreed with the guest.
  • What to do if travel is delayed.

Use the same details in calendar invitations and follow-up messages. Keep essential information readable on a phone.

Have a plan for delays

Nominate one person to receive travel updates. If someone is late, that person can inform the studio and decide which preparation or recording tasks can sensibly happen first.

Keep the planned finish visible. Moving the guest's arrival does not itself move the booking end, and extra studio time needs agreement.

Once you have the guest list and preferred set, choose your Finchley recording package. Confirm the location and arrival arrangements, then give guests one clear set of instructions.
