A product launch podcast should explain why a change matters to its intended audience, then show what the product does within that context. Build one clear story rather than reading a feature list. Agree claims, demonstrations and publication timing before recording so the episode and promotional extracts remain consistent.
Begin with the problem
Describe the task or difficulty the product addresses in language a listener recognises. Choose a presenter who can explain the practical use and a guest who can test the explanation with useful questions. Identify who the product suits and where its limits matter.
The company podcast plan should establish the audience and purpose. A launch episode then gives that audience a focused update, rather than replacing the show's editorial promise with a sales presentation.
Prepare an evidence sheet
List the objective statements you intend to make, their supporting information and the person approving them. Include release dates, availability, compatibility and any limitations that affect the listener's decision. Avoid relying on a confident delivery to make an uncertain statement sound settled.
CAP requires substantiation for objective advertising claims. Keep claims within the approved evidence and review extracts as well as the full programme. A short clip can become misleading if it loses an important condition.
Decide what the audience must see
If you need a demonstration, plan a short sequence with a clear beginning and result. Choose whether it will be captured live, recorded separately or inserted during editing. Our product demonstration guide covers camera and handling decisions.
Describe the important action aloud for audio listeners. Avoid building the explanation around “as you can see here” without explaining what changed. Provide an appropriate link or written summary where more detail is needed.
Coordinate the release rather than rushing the edit
Write a schedule containing recording, first review, corrections, final approval and publication. Give one person authority to resolve changes in naming, pricing or availability before the episode is released. Confirm any embargo with everyone receiving the footage.
| Asset | What to agree in advance |
|---|---|
| Main episode | Key question, approved claims and intended audience |
| Demonstration | Steps, equipment and what counts as a successful take |
| Social clips | Format, context and necessary qualifications |
| Description | Destination link, credits and relevant commercial information |
| Review | Named approver and response deadline |
CAP's recognition rules require marketing communications to be identifiable. Make the commercial context clear wherever it would otherwise be unclear; a podcast format does not remove that responsibility.
Choose a useful next action
Ask for one relevant response, such as viewing detailed documentation or requesting an appropriate demonstration. Keep the link consistent across the agreed assets. Use the business podcast review framework to evaluate the audience response without assuming every later sale came from the episode.
Use the branding guide to prepare approved visual assets. Send the studio brief before the session. Record pickups for any important wording changes, and confirm that the final edit uses the correct version of every claim and visual.
Planning this at Finchley Studios
Finchley's CEO set is one option for a presenter-led launch discussion. If you require a separate product demonstration, tell the team about its size, materials, movement and any screen content before choosing the final setup.
Agree whether the quotation covers the conversation, additional product shots, editing and promotional versions. Send approved logos, terminology and a clear embargo or release date. Confirm any teleprompter requirement and leave time for necessary pickups. Finchley's production support can help capture the planned material; product substantiation and commercial approval need a named owner within your organisation.
