When audio is enough
An audio-first format can suit a show built around listening, narration or conversation without a strong visual requirement. Your priorities remain a suitable room, clear microphones, comfortable monitoring and an effective edit.
Avoid adding cameras simply because other shows use them. Consider whether your team has the time and budget to turn the extra footage into useful content on a regular schedule.
When video adds value
Filmed conversations can support a full video episode, show expressions and create material for social extracts. The set, lighting, wardrobe and camera coverage become part of the programme's identity.
Plan those outputs before recording. A horizontal group shot is not always suitable for individual vertical clips, and the editor needs the right sources to make different versions.
