A podcast session can supply a full episode and shorter social content when the recording is planned for both. The strongest extracts stand on their own and give viewers a clear reason to keep watching.

Plan extracts before recording
Identify subjects likely to produce useful examples, stories or concise explanations. Brief the host to ask focused follow-up questions without making the entire interview feel like a sequence of advertisements.
Tell the production team which formats you need. A full-width episode and a vertical clip require different framing considerations, and graphics should leave room for the speaker and captions.
Capture material the editor can use
Individual camera views can make it easier to crop each speaker. Higher-resolution sources may help, but framing and focus remain essential. Clean, separate audio also gives the editor more control over the extract.
Keep notes about promising moments during the conversation. Record any short introduction or call to action you want to use separately, rather than assuming it will emerge naturally in the full discussion.
Edit each clip as a complete idea
Open with a clear subject or question, retain enough context to preserve meaning and finish with a useful conclusion. Review captions, names and claims before publishing. Avoid cuts that make the speaker appear to say something different.
Agree the number of clips, durations, aspect ratios, branding and review process as a delivery list. A recording can create opportunities for extracts, but it does not guarantee a fixed number of strong clips.
