A teleprompter can help a speaker deliver approved wording while looking towards the camera. It is most useful when precision matters, and should be chosen according to the type of recording rather than used for every conversation.

Where a teleprompter helps
Introductions, sponsor messages, training content and direct-to-camera statements can benefit from a clear script. The speaker can focus on delivery without repeatedly looking down at notes.
A through-the-lens system reflects the text in front of the camera, bringing the reading position close to the intended eyeline. Font size, distance and scrolling speed should be adjusted for the person speaking.
Where an outline may work better
An informal interview needs listening and natural responses. Reading every answer can make the exchange feel constrained or pull attention away from the other participant.
Use an outline or short prompts when flexibility matters. You can combine a conversational interview with separate scripted inserts, provided the changes in camera position and delivery style are planned.
Prepare the script for speech
Write short sentences that sound natural aloud. Check pronunciations, numbers and approved wording before loading the final copy. Rehearse at a comfortable pace and let the operator follow the speaker rather than forcing the speaker to chase the text.
Allow time to test readability and framing. Last-minute script changes can use the time intended for recording, especially when several versions require approval.

How Finchley Studios handles this
Finchley's Platinum package adds a teleprompter to its supported recording offering. Send the intended script and explain which sections need prompting when enquiring. We can discuss the setup alongside your set and camera requirements; a prompter is particularly worth considering for structured leadership or training content.
