Recording in a professional studio can fit an existing in-house or freelance editing workflow. The key is agreeing what your editor will receive before the cameras and microphones start.

Let the editor define the handover
Ask your editor for the required audio formats, camera resolution, frame rate and source-file arrangement. Separate microphone tracks and individual camera recordings can provide more flexibility than a single mixed programme.
Confirm whether synchronisation information, reference mixes and useful production notes will be included. A live cut may serve as a reference, but it does not replace the camera sources when the editor needs to change shots.
Check access and compatibility
Raw footage, finished masters and editing projects are different assets. Specify which you need and ask about any delivery charges or restrictions associated with the booking.
Project files may depend on the original media, fonts, music and plugins. If a project handover is part of the brief, establish what can be transferred and what your editor will need to supply independently.
Plan the transfer and archive
Large video files can take time to move. Agree the transfer method, recipient and deadline, and make sure the editor has enough space to receive the sources.
Assign someone to check the files and retain backups. Studio storage should not be assumed to provide a permanent archive for your series. Keep episode notes with the media so corrections and selected moments remain easy to find.

How Finchley Studios handles this
Tell Finchley that your own editor will handle post-production and share their requirements before booking. Ask the team to confirm the available source files, transfer method and package scope. This gives both the recording team and editor a clear specification for the handover.
