The files you receive after recording should match the work your team will do next. Raw source recordings, a live programme and a finished episode serve different purposes, so agree the deliverables before the session.

Understand the audio files
Separate microphone recordings allow an editor to adjust speakers independently. A combined mix is useful for listening or reference, but it offers less control over overlapping voices and individual level changes.
A finished audio master is a later output: it may include cuts, balancing, music and export processing. Ask whether your package supplies sources, a master or both, and which file formats are included.
Understand the video files
Individual camera recordings preserve different views for editing. A switched programme contains the angles selected during the session. Those are different deliverables even when both come from the same multi-camera setup.
Confirm the resolution, frame rate and audio arrangement with the editor. If you need vertical clips, captions or a clean version without graphics, list them as separate requirements.
Make the handover usable
- Identify the person receiving the files.
- Agree naming and episode identifiers.
- Ask whether synchronisation or project files are included.
- Confirm the transfer timeline and download window.
- Check the delivered files before archiving them.
An editing project references media and may depend on fonts, plugins or other assets. Receiving the project alone does not mean you have everything needed to reopen it.

How Finchley Studios handles this
Before a Finchley session, send the team and your editor a shared delivery list. Confirm which microphone tracks, camera files and finished outputs your selected package includes. Finchley's published recording package information describes cloud delivery; the exact files and any editing work should be defined in your booking scope.
